SUMMARY

Responsible for providing chair side assistance and authorized clinical duties to the Dentist, Dental Hygienist and/or Dental Health Aide Therapist in the Tribal Dental Clinic.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Chair side assisting includes, but is not limited to:

  • Preparing and maintaining dental instruments, supplies and equipment.
  • Collecting and recording patient health histories.
  • Patient management during dental procedures.
  • Instrument transfer.
  • Dental procedure isolation techniques, i.e., placing rubber dams.
  • Preparation of dental materials, i.e., cements, amalgam, composite, impression materials, etc.
  • Dental charting using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Prevention and management of dental medical emergencies.
  • Inventory control and management.
  • Performing digital imaging.
  • Assist Dental Clinic Hygienist as needed.
  • Assist front office Dental Clinic staff as needed.
  • Maintain appearance standards as outlined in CTCLUSI policies.
  • Must be able to interact with Tribal members and the public in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Provide excellent customer service to Dental Clinic clients and vendors.
  • Maintain a good attendance record.
  • Other duties as directed by management.

  • Oregon Certificate of Radiologic Proficiency or be able to obtain certificate within 90 days of hire.

SUMMARY

SUMMARY

Performs intake triage, assists patients with mental health screenings, vitals, and referrals to labs. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs intake triage, vitals, and assists patients with mental health screenings.
  • May advocate, coordinate on behalf of patients with schools.
  • Manages BH provider schedules to ensure department productivity.
  • Coordinates billing/credentialing issues with finance and HR department as needed.
  • Provides support to BH Providers and coordinates psychotropic medications requests for refill.
  • Works with Lab Assistant to urine for drug screens, blood draws, and performs injections.
  • Documents as appropriate vitals, screening and patient history personal information as needed.
  • Is responsible for daily review and processing referrals queue to BH services (internal and self-referrals). Closes referrals and fills structured data.
  • Responsible for prior authorization of psychotropic medications.
  • Responsible for prescription monitoring program reports from Psychiatric patients.

SUMMARY
