SUMMARY

The Clinic Scheduler is responsible for coordinating with multiple departments, physicians, and facilities to provide timely access to specialty care.   • Collaborate with the medical team to optimize scheduling and accommodate patient needs.

  • Answers and directs all incoming clinic phone calls, checks voicemail and fax for messages.
  • Warmly greets and registers patients for clinic visits, verifying insurance, demographic information and updating as needed.
  • Receive cash and insurance payments, prepare deposits and daily deposit summaries.

SUMMARY

The Clinic Security Guard is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and avocation of patient and staff member safety. Duties will include guiding and controlling clinical traffic flow, assisting and welcoming visitors to the facility. Guard serves as a daily deterrent and safety advocate and is also responsible for daily patrol inside and outside of the facility during business hours.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs routine patrol of assigned site to deter, detect, and report security or safety problems, preserve order, and protect property. Patrols may be performed on foot.
  • Performs patrol duties according to security policies and procedures and the clinic’s specific instructions.
  • Corrects unsafe conditions which may pose risk of injury or death to people at the site.
  • Completes forms and reports which may include Incident Reports, and Criminal Trespass Forms.
  • Notifies local Emergency response agency in the event of an emergency. Maintains order at the site until their arrival and renders basic first aid or CPR as needed.

  • Recognition of various signs of gum diseases and dental problems.
  • Provide education to patients on the condition of their mouths and options for improving and maintaining their oral health.

The Medical Director is responsible for the overall direction, leadership and operational management of the quality and safety programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while aligning medical strategies with the overall business objectives. The Medical Director will have accountability for understanding, coordinating, and measuring performance of internal and external quality and safety requirements and will provide leadership in strengthening a quality culture where everyone is engaged and respected. The Medical Director will serve in a highly visible leadership role, working collaboratively across the organization and externally to provide an overview of the quality program and our community, local, and state agencies.

 

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Medical Director provides primary medical care to patients of the CTCLUSI-TRHC, at least 50% of the time.
  • Provide administrative oversight and support for the medical functions of the Health Services, including the oversight of services funded by multiple federal programs to ensure compliance with federal funding regulations, as applicable.
  • The Medical Director will abide by laws and regulations of the CTCLUSI-TRHC Tribe and by the policies and procedures of Center; and in direct compliance with all state, federal, local and AAAHC rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Provide administrative leadership for the medical components of AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) to ensure the delivery of services that align with AAAHC standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to FNP, PA-C, RN, and other clinic staff to assure quality practices by complying with clinic policies, protocols, and workflows.
  • Oversee the development of Policies and Procedures that support CTCLUSI-TRHC’s Mission.
  • Work directly with the QI Coordinator to provide medical perspective for incident reviews, patient complaints, and peer reviews.
  • Participate in monthly Quality Improvement Committee, quarterly Peer Review, and other administrative groups as needed.
  • Implement CTCLUSI-TRHC goals and objectives for medical operations ensuring cost-effective and efficient solutions. Be a primary driver in creating and enforcing clinical practice guidelines. Ensure that all healthcare regulations and safety standards are met.
  • Participate in annual planning, including budget planning and recommendations pertinent to medical activities, plans and projections for staff support.
  • Work closely with the executive management team to implement strategies that enhance patient care, improve the Health Service line, and maximize revenues.
  • Annually define and track medical provider productivity and provide coaching as needed to ensure targets are met.
  • In collaboration with the Quality Committee and CTCLUSI-TRHC leadership develop quality metrics and benchmarks to evaluate clinical performance.
  • Provide high-level oversight of our Electronic Medical Record.
  • Oversee CTCLUSI -TRHC medical services including, primary care, the CLIA waived laboratory, with physical presence in multiple locations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to direct care staff to ensure quality practices and compliance with clinic policies, protocols, and workflows.
  • Provide annual performance evaluations for FNP, PA-C, and RN.
  • Collaborate with local and Tribal academic institutions to further the outreach of Tribal Health initiatives.

  • Current and valid Driver’s License in good standing is required with no insurability restrictions from the Tribe’s insurance carrier.
  • Required to accept the responsibility of a mandatory reporter of abuse and neglect of infants and children, people who are elderly or dependent, individuals with mental illness or development disabilities or residents of nursing homes and other health care facilities. This includes reporting any evidence of physical injury, neglect, sexual or emotional abuse or financial exploitation.
  • First Aid/CPR certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Thorough knowledge of methods, techniques, and practices of health and human services delivery system administration and other Tribal Government related programming.
  • Thorough knowledge of all laws and regulations governing health services to Indian Tribes.
  • This position requires the ability to work well and communicate effectively with Tribal Members, members of other Tribes, and the general public.
  • Experience with all Clinical Care Accreditation – AAAHC, CARF, COLA.
  • Must be willing to complete National Incident Management System (NIMS) training for NIMS certification as arranged by the Tribes.
  • This is a covered position and will be subject to pre-employment drug testing and criminal history background check, which will include fingerprinting.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine the eligibility of patients and ensure appropriate identification of patients who have or are eligible for direct services.
  • Determine eligibility of patients and ensure maximal identification of patients who have or are eligible for alternate third-party resources by effectively implementing screening and interview methods.
  • Review Purchased Referred Care (PRC) referrals and verify patients’ eligibility for services.
  • Work closely with all facility staff in identification and proper utilization of all alternate resources available to all patients.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts in local, state, tribal and federal agencies to better assist patients in developing other resources, including all agencies and organizations that provide alternate resources for health care.
  • Follow up on all pending eligibility claims and work closely with families and agencies until completion of application.
  • Work with patients to appeal denials from third resources as applicable.
  • Works closely with medical staff to obtain pre-authorization for services.
  • Document all encounters and work activities on finding/maintaining alternate resources; update patient’s electronic record; provide monthly reports to supervisor.
  • Continually research all alternate resources, exploring all available options for patient coverage; ensure application and information on alternative resources are readily accessible to the patients.
  • Assist patients and their families with processing all applications for alternate resources. Provide interpretation of the rules and regulations from the organization supplying the benefit, as well as the rules governing Tribal/IHS services. Review with patients what is covered and how to use those services.
  • Serves as back up for Patient Registration and other positions as directed.
  • Readily accepts referrals from Patient Registration to assist patients.
  • Must comply with federal laws and regulations as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Privacy Act of 1974.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Participate in community enrollment events and actively participate in other community programs events.

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
